The first Canadian JYSK store was opened in Coquitlam, BC in 1996. Today, JYSK operates 62 stores across Canada, including locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Québec.

JYSK Canada is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join its growing finance department. The position will be based in our head office in Coquitlam.

The Right Candidate has:

  • Completion of Finance/Accounting Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of two-year full cycle accounting experience in a medium or large size company (i.e. with annual revenue of more than $25M)
  • General knowledge of accounting and financial theories
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Intermediate skills of MS Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with other team members

As a Junior Accountant for JYSK, you will be responsible for:

  • Complete full cycle period end close including related journal entries and reports
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and proper support of key accounts such as cash, inventory, prepaid expense and accrued liabilities
  • Maintain weekly/monthly accounting and KPI reports as requested
  • Ensure daily and monthly duties are being completed timely and accurately.
  • Participate in interim and annual audit with external auditors
  • Perform ad hoc projects as needed during the course of the year
