The role:

JYSK is seeking a talentet Communications and Engagement Specialist to join our Human Resources team on a permanent, full time basis. Reporting to the Director, HR, this role is accountable for providing internal communications support to Canada. If you love creating content, connecting with people and shaping strategic messaging to a wide audience, this is a great role for you. This position comes with exposure to a variety of internal functions along with the ability to shape and define the internal communications strategy for . This role is based out of our Head Office in Coquitlam, BC Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans for the broader HR team and JYSK as a whole on a range of projects and initiatives requiring Colleague communications and engagement
  • Analyze and measure the effectiveness of communication methods and provide recommendations
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships; collaborates with other stakeholders in the effective development and execution of communication plans and strategies.
  • Supports the planning and delivery of special events and forums supporting Colleague engagement
  • Investigate and recommend local and national event opportunities to promote hiring and capitalize on employer brand presence
  • Actively manage the JYSK employment brand identity via social media
  • Ensure that communications are aligned with brand strategy and personality, and are consistent with corporate strategic direction

Qualifications

  • Five or more years’ experience in a relevant role
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, English, Public Relations or a suitable combination of education and work experience
  • Experience planning and executing on communication strategies to support an entire employee base
  • Competence and confidence using social media and the latest technology in the world of communications
  • Someone that understands how small decisions from one team on how to move forward can affect another team and the broader JYSK team overall
  • Experience writing for internal and external audiences
  • Ability to effectively respond to a number of urgent requests generated from different areas of the business
  • Ability to effectively maintain productivity with frequent interruptions – we are an open office environment and operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Articulate, self-motivated and energetic team player
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada
