The first Canadian JYSK store was opened in Coquitlam, BC in 1996. Today, JYSK operates 61 stores across Canada, including locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Québec.

JYSK Canada is currently seeking an Treasury Accountant to join its growing finance department. The position will be based in our head office in Coquitlam. This position would report to the Treasury Manager.

Job Overview

The Treasury Accountant will be responsible for preparing and managing the daily and weekly cash flow, reconciling bank accounts, preparing treasury-related journal entries, and preparing reports to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is well organized in managing time and tasks, has a good understanding of general accounting principles and account reconciliations, and is well versed in reconciling high-volume transactions.

Responsibilities and Duties

Cash flow

  • Prepare the daily and weekly cash flow reports to internal and external stakeholders, timely and accurately.
  • Monitor the cash positions to ensure all bank accounts are adequately funded.
  • Closely work with AP team to ensure the payments are made as per the cash flow forecast.

Account reconciliations

  • Reconcile bank accounts weekly
  • Prepare journal entries in preparation for bank account reconciliations
  • Ensure all account reconciliations are performed timely and with proper supporting documents
  • Investigate and resolve the discrepancies resulting from internal processes and/or technical issues.
  • Improve the efficiency of the reconciliation process

Others

  • Prepare supporting documents for the weekly and monthly financial package to the bank
  • Prepare supporting documents for interim audit from the bank or external parties
  • Assist in the monthly financial close process as needed
  • Perform ad hoc projects as needed during the year
Qualifications
  • Have a minimum of one year of full cycle experience; preferably one year of treasury experience
  • Experience in a high-volume multi-location organization with +25M revenue would be considered an asset
  • CPA designation would be considered an asset
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues before they develop
  • Strong attention to detail and information accuracy
  • Experience working with accounting software (Microsoft Navision/Dynamics experience would be considered an asset)
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Excel (Experience with V-Look ups, Pivot Tables, Sumif formula etc.)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization
