About Us

JYSK’s vision is to become the world’s most widespread and profitable chain of stores.

JYSK was first established in Denmark in 1979 and now operates in 51 countries with more than 2,900 stores and 24,000 employees. The first Canadian JYSK store was opened in 1996 in Coquitlam, BC. Today there are 61 JYSK stores in Canada, with locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec. JYSK Canada is a franchisee of JYSK.

JYSK delivers a great Scandinavian offer for everyone within sleeping and living. With a passion for Scandinavian design, our products range from furniture to accessories, including mattresses, bedding, and outdoor products that will enhance any living space with a sense of sophistication at affordable prices.

JYSK is a global business, but we continue to operate based on our Scandinavian roots. This is reflected in our company culture and the way we do business.

I joined JYSK back in 2002. I was drawn to the opportunities a larger company would provide and as a customer, I loved the products JYSK carried.

Since day one, the most rewarding part of my job has been getting to meet and work with amazing people – from head office, to store colleagues, to regular customers. Special Olympics

At JYSK, we love to give back. We’re a socially responsible corporation in tune with the need to share our experience and our wealth with the community. JYSK has been a national partner of Special Olympics Canada since 2006, continuing the tradition of sponsoring Special Olympics chapters worldwide when the company was founded in Denmark in 1979.

JYSK is proud to be a national sponsor of Special Olympics Canada and shares in such values as respect, commitment, determination, generosity, and pride.

The “Be a Fan” campaign will help to create much needed funds and awareness.

JYSK supports the dream of Special Olympics athletes to succeed both on and off the playing field.

This campaign is one other way JYSK invests in its communities since all donations will stay within the communities where our customers and employees live and do business. It’s both a privilege and a great honour to be part of this wonderful organization.

I joined JYSK in 2002, just as its second Winnipeg store was preparing to open.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to grow and fill various roles, from Visual Merchandiser to Store Manager. Today, I am in a position where I can impact and support our colleagues on a much larger scale through training and development. Our team works hard to ensure our colleagues have the knowledge and direction they need to be successful in their roles.

Working Here

JYSK and its leadership team are responsible for our employees’ physical and social work environment. We’re continuously improving our store and warehouse facilities to make sure that our employees have all the necessary tools available. We train each employee in proper goods-handling techniques and provide them with the support and protection aids necessary to carry out their job safely.
